Tourism Destination Promotion Consultant

Brazilian tourism destination promotion company based in São Paulo is looking for a Tourism Destination Promotion Consultant, responsible for managing organization marketing and communications efforts to position client destinations. This position sets strategic direction for the organization’s travel trade development strategy and general marketing efforts, including digital marketing, advertising and public relations. The Tourism Destination Promotion Consultant will develop, direct and execute the annual tourism destination marketing programs in Brazil for the clients.
· Development and management of promotion programs designed to promote client´s destination to the Brazilian travel trade, including tour operators, wholesalers, receptive tour operators and travel agents.
. Works with key accounts to drive visitation to the destinations.
. Strategic planning, market research and monitoring.
. Advises tour operators, wholesalers and travel agents on how to create packages and sell clients destination as a leisure destination.
. Works closely with industry partners.
. Works with content PR team to create editorial content for travel trade e-newsletters, websites, presentations, etc.
. Evaluate deliverables against strategy and client preferences and provide constructive, clear and objective feedback to the clients.
. Implement online and offline agent trainings programs.
. Organize and host international trade missions.
. Organize and participate in industry related trade shows and events, in Brazil and abroad.
. Provide trade show support to include pre-event promotion, show floor and post-show follow-up, advertising, collateral and promotional materials management.
. Organize and lead FAM tours and press trips.
. Development of marketing materials.
. Generate destination websites and social media content.
. Elaborate monthly and annual activity reports.
. Reports pertinent to metrics, budget variances, KPIs, strategic plan goals, objectives, performance, etc. in a timely manner.
. Provide solution-oriented marketing and best-practice business approaches as marketing opportunities and challenges present themselves throughout the year.
. Prepare accurate and timely client and internal communications that may include creative briefs, scope of work documents, budgets, estimates and weekly status updates.
. Meet deadlines, monitor milestones, move projects forward and report to Directors.
. Performs other accountabilities and projects as assigned.
· Development of new business opportunities.
. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, tourism, business management or a closely related field.
. Over three years of experience in working within Brazil tourism industry such as destination promotion, tour operators, airlines, travel agencies and consolidators.
· Availability travel internationally.
. Fluency in English (essential); Spanish as a big plus.
. Strong knowledge of Office Tools, Photoshop as a plus.
. Entry salary commensurate with experience, plus bonus.
